Both the Polar Bear and Fox characters are unlocked through target-based challenges, and while they follow a similar idea, each one tests slightly different skills. If you understand how these puzzles work, you can unlock both characters quickly without wasting time retrying.

Sledding Game Beginner Guide – Polar Bear + Fox Unlock
Before going for either character, it is important to understand the system both puzzles use.
Each puzzle revolves around a stone statue and nearby targets. Your goal is to hit a set of targets in the correct sequence.
For most puzzles:
- You need to hit 3 targets in a row
- The statue will react (usually lighting up)
- You must not miss shots
For the Fox puzzle specifically:
- You also have a time limit of about 15 seconds between hits
- Each successful hit refreshes the timer
- Missing or delaying resets progress
Once all targets are hit correctly, you can interact with the statue to claim your reward.
Polar Bear Character Walkthrough
Reach the Puzzle Location
Start by heading to the bottom-left area of the map. You will find a ski lift there. Take the lift all the way to the top of the mountain. Once you arrive, turn to your right and move downhill until you spot a stone sculpture. This is where the Polar Bear puzzle begins.
Solve the Target Puzzle
You need to hit three targets in sequence without missing.
For the first target, stand on the edge of the sculpture and aim carefully. Use full power for your throw. This is the hardest shot and may take a few tries to get right.
After hitting the first target, turn to your right and locate the second one. This shot is easier, so take your time and aim properly.
Finally, turn back toward the sculpture and look slightly behind and upward to find the third target. Hit this to complete the sequence.
Unlock the Polar Bear
Once all three targets are hit successfully, the sculpture will light up. Walk up to it and press F to unlock the Polar Bear character.
Fox Character Walkthrough
Find the Fox Statue
Exit the lodge and take the far-right ski lift, which leads to the freestyle slope. Ride it to the top. When you get off, look to your right to spot a target board. From there, walk straight up the mountain until you find a stone statue hidden in the forest.
Complete the Timed Target Challenge
This puzzle is similar to the Polar Bear one but includes a time limit.
Start by turning around from the statue and looking downhill. Move toward the edge near a tree and stand in its shadow. From here, fully charge your throw and hit the first target. This is the hardest shot, so doing it first makes things easier.
Next, quickly return to the statue and turn to your left. You will find the second target nearby. Hit it while your timer is still active.
The third target is located very close to the statue. This is the easiest one and should be completed quickly before time runs out.
Unlock the Fox Character
After hitting all three targets within the time limit, the statue will fully light up. Walk up to it and press F to unlock the Fox character.
New Look Achievement
Unlocking the Fox character will also grant you the “New Look” achievement. In some cases, the achievement may only appear after restarting or closing the game.
Tips That Make Both Puzzles Easier
Always use full power for your throws, as it makes your shots more consistent and easier to adjust. It is also best to attempt the hardest target first so that you are not under pressure later in the sequence.
Pay attention to your positioning. Small adjustments in where you stand can make a big difference in your accuracy. If you are struggling, try slightly changing your angle instead of repeating the same throw.
You can also use the marker system to help with positioning. Place a marker using the “1” key and teleport back to it using the “2” key. This can save time, especially in the Fox puzzle.
If you are playing with friends, each player can focus on one target. This makes both puzzles significantly easier and faster to complete.
