Getting a grip on every Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A means mastering not just battle strategy but also exploration. Colorful Screws, those hidden collectibles tucked away in tricky platforming spots, hold the key to boosting your chances in encounters, Mega Pokemon battles, and even your in-game wealth. Chasing down and conquering these courses transforms grinding into an engaging challenge, rewarding exploration and precision.
Since these collectible screws are spread widely, it makes sense to break down their locations by Districts and Sectors to keep things manageable and organized. This way, you can easily track your progress and pinpoint where you still need to explore next without spinning in circles.
Having trouble finding a particular Screw or stuck on a platforming section? The community around this game can be a solid resource for tactical advice and strategies beyond what you might first suspect.

Where to Trade Colorful Screws for Rewards
After collecting some Colorful Screws, you might wonder where to redeem them for the powerful Canari plush upgrades. The trading spot is just northeast of the train station, an area bustling with NPCs wearing blue and yellow. Tracking down this spot is simple once you know where to look.
This lively exchange hub is easy to spot on the map and serves as your gateway to converting those hard-earned Screws into tangible benefits.

| Green Canari Plush | +50 Player HP | +100 Player HP | +150 Player HP |
| Blue Canari Plush | +10% Catch Rate | +20% Catch Rate | +35% Catch Rate |
Each plushie requires increasing amounts of Screws to upgrade: 3 Screws for Level 1, 5 for Level 2, and 8 for Level 3. Gathering 77 Screws unlocks all levels across the plushies (note that Red Canari Plush Level 1 is given by default). Pushing beyond 100 Screws unlocks an additional plush that serves as a decorative piece in your room rather than offering gameplay benefits.
Unlocking the Glide Ability
Many Screws become unreachable without the Glide ability. To unlock it, you need to reach rank E in the game and then speak with Taunie on the rooftop behind the hotel. This ability significantly widens the areas you can access and makes some of the trickier platforming sections manageable.
For this reason, screws inaccessible without Glide are clearly marked. This helps players plan when to revisit certain locations as they progress and gain new abilities.
Colorful Screws in District Vert
District Vert offers 22 Colorful Screws, with 8 requiring Glide. This district presents a good balance of accessible and advanced platforming challenges that highlight your increasing skills throughout the game.
Sector 1
The first Colorful Screw in Sector 1 is found on a scaffolding overlooking the tower in Centrico Plaza. Climb up the ladder on the northern edge, jump down, and interact with the arrow to progress onto the Screw — a straightforward start to your collection.
The next Screw lies along a canal leading to an alley. Climb the ladder on the tall scaffolding, use the arrow platform to jump, cross tight bridges, and descend to retrieve the Screw on a lower platform.
Screw 3
Glide-only access is required here. Reach the roof from Sector 3’s course (Screw 5), then glide down into the courtyard to claim it.
- Glide-only
Climb up to the roof of using the course from Sector 3 (Screw 5) and jump into the courtyard.
Sector 2
There’s one Screw atop a building in Sector 2. Climb the ladder at the northern part, move left and south towards brown boxes, use these to ascend onto a grey box, then roll off onto the southern building. Grab the edge and climb to reach the Screw near a purple Pokeball spot where a Larvitar can sometimes be found.
There’s only on Screw in Sector 2, and it’s on top of the building. Climb the ladder in the northern part of the Sector and walk to the left and south until you reach a bunch of brown boxes. Climb using the boxes on the gray big box and roll off of it onto the building to the south. You’ll have to catch the edge and climb.
Sector 3
Glide-only again — visit a large scaffolding at Sector 3’s eastern edge. Climb its ramps and ladders until a dead end, then roll off and glide to the other side, climb the ladder, and pick up the purple Pokeball at the top.
- Glide-only
I’d sooner put this one into Sector 1, but the game says it’s Sector 3 under the mini-map, so we’ll go with that. Right at the eastern edge of Sector 1, going into Sector 3, there’s a relatively large scaffolding course.
Climb the ramps and the ladders until you reach a dead end. From there, roll off and then glide to get to the other side. Get up the ladder and you’ll find the purple pokeball at the top.
Screw 6 sits above Cafe Cyclone’s courtyard. Destroy purple blobs with any Water-type move, teleport to the roof, and use the scaffolding course to climb up. Leap to the right and approach the purple Pokeball.
Another Glide-only Screw here: climb from the platform at Screw 6’s top to a northern platform. Roll off the edge, glide west, and land on a rooftop entrance holding the Screw.
- Glide-only
This next one might be part of the unreachable early game pack. Climb up at the top of the building you just climbed earlier for Screw 6 and you’ll see a platform off of the edge, looking to the north. Roll off and you’ll land on the main building from Sector 3.
The purple pokeball is on top of a rooftop entrance to the west. Go to the egde of the blue rooftop, roll off, and then glide onto the entrance where the Screw is waiting.
Coulant Waterway
Coulant Waterway
This area next to Sector 3 features a single platforming course. Climb to the dead end, roll carefully onto the next platform, ascend the ladder, carefully cross a long bridge, and grab the Screw at the end.
Sector 4
Access all Screws here using the southwest elevator near the Center. For Screw 9, drop into the courtyard, ride the eastern elevator up, then walk northwest on the rooftop to spot the Screw from a distance.
For the first and easiest one, you just need to jump down into the courtyard and take the elevator in the eastern part. Then walk on the rooftop to the north-western part and you’ll see it from quite a distance.
Screw 10 is tricky: though you can theoretically roll onto the platform, Glide makes this much easier and more reliable. The technique involves stepping off the roof and gliding right as you pass the target platform. Mistiming results in a miss, so patience helps here.
This one, I you can maybe roll onto the platform, but I tried a dozen times and failed (a few users in the comments on Reddit specified you can do it without Glide, but I don’t suggest it if you don’t want to waste a lot of time trying to get the right timing).
To get it, get on top of its roof. Then walk off and, just as you pass the level you’re supposed to get to, press A to glide and jump onto the platform. If you press to early, you’ll miss the entrance, and too late, you’ll be too low.
Screw 11 lies near the elevator’s southern edge. Roll onto a roof with a golden ball, then onto the adjacent platform bearing the purple Pokeball.
Sector 5
In the park northwest of the hotel, a straightforward course awaits. Climb carefully, cross bridges with focus, and secure the purple Pokeball holding the Screw.
Right in the middle of the park north-west of the hotel. A pretty easy course, just climb and walk carefully on the bridges to get to the purple pokeball.
Glide-only: This early-seen Screw becomes accessible after unlocking Glide, allowing access to rooftops here. Leap from a roof and press jump with Glide timed perfectly to land on the platform.
This is one of the ones you’ll see early on and have no idea how to reach. Once you get Glide, you’ll have access to the rooftops in Sector 5, allowing you to get to this purple pokeball. Once at the location, jump off the roof and press A just as you reach the same height as the platform.
Sector 6
Sector 6
Near Racine Construction lies a platforming course that’s generally easy. Climb to the roof, then drop onto the platform containing the purple Pokeball.
On top of Restaurant Le Nah, reach the ladder behind the southern building, climb up, then roll off onto the next rooftop to get the Screw.
Though technically in South Boulevard, just north of Racine Construction, this ladder leads to a high scaffolding. Roll from the top to a lower platform, climb up, and grab the purple Pokeball perched above. Glide makes this jump simpler.
If you can Glide, just jump from the top to the Screw.
Sector 7
Inside Racine Construction, at the back, you’ll find a Screw uncovered during the Rank D promotion mission. Keep an eye out during missions, as some Screws are sneaky enough to be hiding indoors.
