Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive tasks players with hunting down elusive purple orbs called Frozen Darkness during Repeat missions. These orbs are key to unlocking the coveted Embrace the Darkness achievement alongside exclusive outfits for Sung Jin-woo. Their spawn pattern is somewhat random, but they appear at specific trigger points throughout the mission floors, making their discovery both a challenge and a reward.

If you stumble upon a Frozen Darkness in a location not mentioned here, sharing it with the community can help refine everyone’s strategies and ensure no secrets are overlooked.

Note: This list is continuously updated as new spawn points are discovered in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive.

All Frozen Darkness Spawn Locations

Chapter 1 – Train to Become a Formidable Combatant

This Repeat mission offers a total of 10 Frozen Darkness orbs. You can expect up to 3 to appear per run, so completing this mission multiple times is necessary to collect them all. When you’re just missing one, be thorough—check every designated spawn point on each floor carefully.

Most often, one orb will spawn per floor, but keep in mind that the distribution isn’t fixed. You might find none on one floor and two on another, so scan areas closely every time.

Hapjeong Station Floor 1

The layout here is straightforward. Your first spawn check should be just after the first right turn, near the escalator. Pay close attention to the green and white sign—if it’s sparkling, that’s your orb.

Further along, a fallen pillar covered in water marks another common spawn zone. Look carefully among the mining resources here; a Frozen Darkness may be hiding in plain sight.

The final Floor 1 spot is at the exit near the escalator beside the Move stone, an area that’s easy to overlook but worth a search.

Hapjeong Station Floor 2

Right after arriving at the second floor, a highly visible spawn location is on the red door to your left as you ascend the stairs. If you see the Investigate prompt, you’re in the right place.

Another common spot is behind some rubble next to a pillar just after the second enemy area. Turn around to catch the white sparkle.

Near the exit, three more spawn points cluster around the Move stone. One lies across from it next to rubble, another on the escalator descending to the left, and one perched atop the second ticket machine to the right.

From the Move stone, walk to the left. The sparkling light can appear on the escalator going down.

From the Move stone, walk to the left and straight. The Frozen Darkness can spawn on top of the 2nd ticket machine.

Hapjeong Station Floor 3

After defeating the boss on Floor 3, check immediately to the right near metal beams for an orb. Alternatively, look inside the ruined train at the back of the room.

Or you can find it in the back of the room, in the ruined train.

Chapter 2 – Lizards

Most players can gather all Frozen Darkness orbs here within just two runs, thanks to predictable spawn points.

Floor 1

Near the Move stone, glance left behind a stalagmite overlooking the cave—this natural feature often conceals an orb.

At the start of the floor, look inside the blue flora near scaffolding for another potential spawn.

Floor 2

Turn left at the floor’s start to spot a small stone structure that can host a sparkling orb on top.

Another dependable spot is just to the right of the Move stone, marked subtly by an arrow on the wall.

Floor 3

Look under a clustered set of purple mushrooms seen from the Move stone—nature’s canopy is a favorite hiding place.

Floor 4

Early in the floor, scan the purple corner near a stalagmite beside a blocked path leading upwards.

In the next enemy zone, check atop a torch beside a large stone archway for a shimmering orb.

Floor 5

Right next to the Move stone in the boss fight arena, seek out the small crystal ledge where an orb might appear.

Floor 6

After tackling the boss, face the Move stone’s detailed drawing and look toward spider eggs in the distance—a reliable hidden spawn.

Close by, another orb may appear beside a left-side torch near the Move stone.

Chapter 3 – Gatekeeper

Behind the Move stone, check left of a destroyed building near a burning tree trunk for one orb.

To the right from the same viewpoint, an orb can spawn at the broken road’s end, tucked to the left.

Close to Cerberus’s guarded door, climb the stairs and glance left just outside to find the third orb.

Chapter 4 – Kang Taeshik

All Frozen Darkness orbs on this chapter have been collected in a single run, thanks to their clustered positions.

Floor 1

First enemy area offers a spawn near broken wooden boxes to the left.

The second enemy room has an orb beside a massive red crystal protruding from the floor.

Floor 2

At the start, a turn to the right reveals boxes hiding an orb.

An orb awaits near the Move stone on the bridge’s opposite side, to the left.

Floor 3

Right as the floor begins, turn right to find a buried arch with an orb inside its right side.

At the floor’s end near the Move stone, look back for an orb beside a red crystal.

Floor 4

At the start, venture left toward the purple mushroom patch to find an orb.

After clearing the initial enemies, detour left from the mission path to find an orb next to broken boxes.

In the boss area, an orb is tucked beside broken barrels to the left as you enter.

Floor 5

After the final battle, scan the right side of the Move stone, near red crystals.

Chapter 5 – Protector of the Throne

Floor 1

Begin by turning left to catch the orb flickering atop a fire.

After the first left turn, check to the right near a broken wooden pole for an orb.

Floor 2

From the Move stone, glance back at the gate to spot an orb inside a broken box on the left.

Floor 3

Near the Move stone inside the room, check the torch holder to the left for a spawn.

A second orb waits on a pillar’s base on the right.

Floor 4

At the start, bypass the main path, head back, then turn right toward a ledge holding an orb.

Next to the boss room entrance, look near a torch pillar for an orb.

Floor 5

Check the back of the room on the door itself for an orb.

Floor 6

Upon entering the prep room, turn around and peek behind a chest or bench pillar base to find an orb.

The final orb is right behind the Move stone—don’t accidentally activate the Move button as you grab it.

Chapter 6 – The Red Gate

Floor 1 – Sequence 1

The large pillar topped with a torch at the start of the sequence can hold an orb.

Between two torches en route to the objective, an orb may appear atop the staircase.

After defeating the two mini-bosses, turn right instead of moving forward; the orb sparkles on the tip of a fallen log’s branch.
