The long-awaited Sea 3 update is finally here in Haze Seas, and it’s easily one of the biggest content drops the game has received. Besides introducing an entirely new sea to explore, the update also adds the Okuchi mythical fruit, 3 Sword Style, a new Race Storage system, upgraded Sea Beast equipment, and several new NPCs.
I spent some time going through everything shown in the update, and honestly, there’s a lot packed into this release. Some features are available immediately, while a few appear to be planned for later patches. Here’s everything you need to know.
How to Unlock Sea 3 in Haze Seas
Getting into Sea 3 isn’t as simple as talking to an NPC—you’ll first have to prove you’re strong enough.
Head to the Gatekeeper NPC, who guards the entrance to the Third Sea.
After speaking with him, you’ll be challenged to defeat the Red Emperor, Shanks.
Shanks Boss Requirements
Once you accept the challenge:
- A cutscene begins.
- You’ll be transported into a solo boss battle.
- No teammates can help you.
- If you lose, you can retry the fight.
Shanks hits extremely hard, so make sure you’re fully healed before accepting the challenge. Going in with low health usually ends in a quick defeat.
After defeating Shanks, the path to Sea 3 finally opens.
How to Get 3 Sword Style (V1)
The update also introduces 3 Sword Style, inspired by Zoro.
Before you can unlock it, you’ll need three specific swords:
- Sandai Kitetsu
- Enma
- Shisui
Each sword must reach:
- 300 Mastery
Once all three weapons meet the mastery requirement, visit the 3 Sword Style location to unlock the fighting style.
Some players noticed the NPC wasn’t active during early testing, so if it isn’t available immediately, it’s likely waiting to be enabled by the developers.
How to Unlock 3 Sword Style V2
After obtaining the first version, you can eventually upgrade it into 3 Sword Style V2.
Current requirements include:
- 300 Mastery on 3 Sword Style V1
- 5 Ancient Blade Relics
Take these materials to Doryan the Forge, who upgrades the fighting style.
At the time of testing, V2 appeared in the forge menu but may not have been fully released yet.
3 Sword Style V2 Moves
Once unlocked, V2 upgrades every move with stronger animations and improved effects.
The showcased abilities include:
- Soaring Phoenix
- Purgatory Descent
- 3000 Skies
The visuals are heavily inspired by Wano-era Zoro and are a noticeable upgrade over the original version.
Okuchi Mythical Fruit Showcase
One of the biggest highlights of the update is the brand-new Okuchi Mythical Fruit, inspired by Yamato.
Unlike many fruits, Okuchi combines heavy melee attacks with freezing abilities and eventually grants a powerful transformation.
Base Moves
The fruit includes:
- Feral Pursuit
- Frozen Flames
- Cold Breath
- Seeking Serpent
Several attacks can freeze enemies while dealing respectable damage.
Okuchi Transformation
After building enough energy, the fruit allows players to transform into a stronger form.
During transformation:
- M1 attacks become stronger.
- Existing skills receive upgraded effects.
- New animations and increased damage are added.
The transformed abilities shown include:
- Feral Strike
- Enhanced Frozen Flames
- Enhanced Cold Breath
- Blistering Fury
- Pursuing Serpent
Several attacks appear to inflict both freeze and burn effects, making Okuchi one of the most visually impressive Mythical Fruits currently available.
Race Storage System
One of the most requested quality-of-life features has finally arrived.
Players can now save races instead of losing them every time they reroll.
Here’s how it works:
- Store your current race.
- Continue spinning for new races.
- Switch back whenever you want.
Additional race storage slots cost:
- 1,000 Gems each
Players can purchase up to five storage slots.
This is especially useful if you regularly experiment with different race builds.
Fruit Storage
The update also expands fruit management.
Players can purchase additional fruit storage, allowing them to save valuable fruits instead of consuming or discarding them.
Unlike Race Storage, fruit storage costs a bit more, but it’s well worth it if you collect Mythical Fruits.
New NPCs in Sea 3
Sea 3 introduces several useful NPCs in one central area.
You’ll find:
- Fruit Dealer
- Researcher Iris
- Haki Color NPC
- Mastery NPC
- Race Spin NPC
- Stat Reset NPC
- Doctor White
- Marine Recruiter
Several new Fighting Style trainers are also located nearby.
Sage of Combat
The Sage of Combat acts as the main NPC for advanced fighting styles.
Talking to this NPC lets you:
- Begin Fighting Style quests.
- Upgrade existing styles.
- Access future V2 upgrades.
Expect more fighting styles to be added here in future updates.
Demon Summoner
Another interesting addition is the Demon Summoner.
Players with:
- 25 Million Bounty
receive a special Demon Spawner.
Initially, many players assumed this summoned a world boss, but it actually appears to summon a large demon companion instead.
During early testing, the companion wasn’t fully functional, suggesting it’s either unfinished or intended mainly for PvP interactions.
We’ll know more once the feature is fully enabled.
Sea Beast Armor V2
Sea Beast equipment has also received upgrades.
To craft both V2 versions, you’ll need:
- 2 Sea Beast Hearts
Sea Beast Helmet V2
Stats shown include:
- +150 Stamina
- +10% Movement Speed
- Observation Haki bonus
Sea Beast Armor V2
Provides:
- +3,500 Health
- +10% Movement Speed
These upgrades make Sea Beast gear considerably stronger than its original version.
Everything Added in the Sea 3 Update
Here’s a quick summary of the biggest additions:
- New Sea 3 region
- Solo Shanks boss fight
- Okuchi Mythical Fruit
- 3 Sword Style
- 3 Sword Style V2
- Race Storage
- Fruit Storage
- Sage of Combat NPC
- Demon Companion system
- Sea Beast Helmet V2
- Sea Beast Armor V2
- New Sea 3 NPC hub
- Additional fighting style progression
Sea 3 is a massive step forward for Haze Seas, adding new progression systems alongside fresh combat content. The Shanks boss fight gives players a memorable challenge before entering the new sea, while features like Race Storage and Fruit Storage solve long-standing quality-of-life issues.
Although a few systems—such as 3 Sword Style V2 and the Demon Companion—appear to still be receiving final touches, there’s already plenty to keep players busy. If you’re planning to tackle Sea 3, defeating Shanks should be your first priority, followed by unlocking 3 Sword Style and trying out the powerful Okuchi Mythical Fruit.
