The newest Sailor Piece update introduced the powerful secret Reaper race, and it is already becoming one of the most difficult evolutions to unlock in the game. A lot of players are jumping into the grind without understanding how the trials work, which ends up wasting hours of farming time.
If you want to unlock Reaper as quickly as possible, this guide explains every step clearly, including the best farming methods, boss requirements, and survival tips for the hardest parts of the evolution.
You Must Use Wraith Race First
Before anything else, you need to already have the Wraith race equipped.
This part is extremely important because none of the Reaper quest progress counts if you are using another race. Many players accidentally farm NPCs or complete raids without Wraith equipped and end up getting no progress at all.
Once you have Wraith active, head over to Slayer Island in Sea 2.
There, you will find the Reaper evolution NPC who starts the entire questline.
First Trial: Defeat 1,500 NPCs
The first challenge sounds simple, but it can take quite a while if you farm inefficiently.
Your goal is to defeat 1,500 NPCs while using Wraith race.
The fastest method is not randomly traveling around the map looking for enemies. Instead, focus on areas with tightly grouped NPCs and fast respawn timers.
Some of the better farming spots include:
- Strong Slayer enemies
- Spirit Fighters
- NPC camps with clustered spawns
If your build has strong area damage attacks, this section becomes much faster because you can clear entire groups quickly.
Mobility skills also help a lot since moving between spawn points efficiently saves a huge amount of time during long grinding sessions.
Second Trial: Collect the Three Soul Drops
After finishing the NPC grind, the real RNG farming begins.
The second soul trial requires three different soul drops from bosses.
Warrior Soul
The Warrior Soul drops from:
- Spirit Warrior
Ancient Soul
The Ancient Soul can drop from:
- Cosmic Being
- Sun Incarnate
Time Soul
The Time Soul drops from:
- World Boss encounters
These drops are completely luck-based, so this section can either go quickly or become extremely time consuming depending on your RNG.
Use Every Luck Boost Possible
This part is where luck boosts become incredibly important.
You should try using:
- 2x Luck boosts
- Luck relics
- Lucky accessories
- Event buffs
- Any temporary luck consumables
Boss grinding without luck boosts can take forever, especially when farming the rarer soul drops.
If possible, try farming bosses in groups so kills happen faster and respawn downtime feels less painful.
Third Trial: Defeat 10 Krakens
The third challenge requires you to defeat 10 Krakens while still using the Wraith race.
This part is not necessarily difficult, but it takes time because Kraken spawns are not always immediate.
The best strategy here is server hopping.
Many players repeatedly switch servers looking for active Kraken events instead of waiting around in one lobby for long periods.
Grinding with friends also helps a lot because Kraken fights end much faster with multiple players attacking together.
Final Trial: Complete 10 Raids Without Dying
This is easily the hardest section of the entire Reaper evolution.
You must complete 10 raids without dying while using Wraith race.
If you die during a raid, that run does not count toward your progress.
Because of this, random matchmaking can become frustrating very quickly if teammates are weak or careless.
Best Tips for the Deathless Raid Challenge
For this section, survival matters more than damage.
A few important recommendations:
Avoid Weak Random Teams
Try running raids with friends or experienced high-level players whenever possible.
Strong teammates make the raids safer and much more consistent.
Focus on Survivability
Use builds that prioritize:
- Healing
- Damage reduction
- Defensive relics
- Sustain abilities
- Mobility skills
Staying alive is the only thing that matters for these runs.
Play Carefully
Many players fail because they try to greed for extra damage and end up getting eliminated by raid mechanics.
Playing safely is far more important than topping the damage charts.
Unlocking the Reaper Race
Once all four trials are completed, return to the Reaper NPC on Slayer Island while still using Wraith race.
Talk to the NPC again and your race will evolve into the secret Reaper race.
Thankfully, the game does include one very helpful feature here. If you ever lose Reaper later, you do not need to repeat the full grind again. Simply return to the NPC while using Wraith and you can reclaim the evolution immediately.
The Reaper evolution is definitely one of the toughest progression systems currently available in Sailor Piece.
Between the 1,500 NPC kills, RNG boss soul drops, Kraken farming, and 10 deathless raids, this is a serious endgame grind designed for dedicated players.
Still, if you prepare properly with good teammates, strong luck boosts, and a survival-focused build, the process becomes much more manageable.
