Luma Island Fishing Guide

Fishing in Luma Island hinges on having a Fishing Rod and Bait. After finishing the Tutorial, you receive a Fishing Rod for free. While this basic rod is sufficient for all fishing activities, it can also be upgraded at the Anvil located near the Stonemason’s Shop to improve your efficiency.

The essential Bait comes from using the Bug Net to catch small caterpillars wandering around or hiding in grass and fern bushes. This bait attracts fish and is key to successful fishing sessions, so keep an eye out for these tiny critters as you explore.

Once equipped with your rod and bait, approach any ponds or water bodies where fish visibly swim. After selecting your Fishing Rod and bait from the inventory, a prompt to cast will appear. Aim carefully at the fish to start the fishing mini-game.

The mini-game challenges you to keep your bobber aligned with the moving fish below the water’s surface. Successfully maintaining this lock-on for a brief period triggers the opportunity to reel the fish in by rapidly clicking the Left Mouse Button until the catch is secured.
