Fortunately, most early-game decisions are forgiving, and there are several tricks that can make your first few seasons much easier. This guide covers some of the best beginner tips to help you progress faster and avoid common mistakes.

Best Early-Game Money Making Method

Money can be scarce during the first few days, but flowers offer one of the easiest ways to earn cash.

At the start of the game, you can harvest sunflowers near Jade’s farm and sell them for a quick profit. Once you’ve accumulated some money, purchasing flower seeds and growing your own flowers becomes one of the most reliable income sources available.

Compared to many early crops, flowers often provide better returns with minimal effort.

Get a Free Blob Early

New players can obtain an extra Blob almost immediately after completing the tutorial.

Visit Flint’s house and look behind his parents. You’ll find a row of eggs, and the first one is completely free.

This gives you an additional companion without spending any money.

Keep in mind that the available Blob changes weekly, so the result is determined by the current week rather than daily saves.

Free Kiwi Blob Chance

Another early Blob opportunity comes from Ryan in Clover Town.

You can spin Ryan’s wheel once per day for a chance to receive a Kiwi Blob.

If you’re determined to obtain one quickly, saving before the spin and reloading can help until you get the desired result.

Fix Missing Stats With Skill Berries

Some Blobs won’t naturally learn moves that improve every stat.

Fortunately, the Blob League contains vending machines that sell useful items.

These machines offer:

  • Soda
  • Skill Berries

Skill Berries can teach stat-growth skills that help fill gaps in a Blob’s development.

You can also find additional berries inside crates located throughout Blob Worlds.

Essential Items for Blob World Exploration

Before entering any Blob World, make sure you bring the right tools.

Homewand

Always carry your Homewand.

Without it, leaving a Blob World becomes much more difficult, often requiring you to either defeat the boss or get knocked out.

Axe

An Axe is highly recommended because crates frequently contain:

  • Seeds
  • Money
  • Crafting materials
  • Other useful rewards

Food and Healing Items

Carry a stack of cooked food for emergency healing.

Yogurt Sorbet is an excellent option early on.

Also keep status-healing herbs in your inventory, especially when facing poison-heavy enemies.

Gather Resources Near Pine Trees

Many collectible resources spawn around mature Pine Trees.

Throughout the year you’ll find seasonal:

  • Berries
  • Mushrooms
  • Healing herbs

During Solis, poison-curing herbs are particularly valuable because the first Blob World contains numerous poison-inflicting enemies.

Don’t Panic About Farm Cleanup

One of the most common beginner fears is accidentally removing resources from the farm.

The good news is that almost nothing is permanently lost.

Trees

Trees can be replanted using saplings.

Emerald provides saplings through battles and sells them directly.

Additional saplings can also drop from enemies.

Rocks

Rocks mainly provide stone.

Once you’ve collected the materials you need, removing them is perfectly fine.

Dirt Piles

Dirt exists primarily as a source of soil.

If you need space, feel free to clear them.

The key thing to remember is that farm organization matters more than preserving every object exactly where it spawned.

Need More Materials?

If you’ve cleared your farm and need additional resources, visit areas around town.

The train station is one of the best locations for gathering:

  • Wood
  • Stone
  • Soil

These resources refresh with seasonal changes, ensuring you never permanently run out.

Blob Worlds also provide additional resource gathering opportunities.

How Blob Storage Works

Your active team is limited to three Blobs, but that doesn’t mean you’re restricted to owning only three.

Barn Storage

Building barns allows you to store extra Blobs.

Depending on the barn size, each one can hold between four and eight Blobs.

Flint’s Daycare

Flint can care for up to 250 Blobs through the daycare system.

Even better, you can actually see your stored Blobs wandering around his yard.

If you’re a collector, storage space should never become a major concern.

Get More Fruit Trees for Free

Fruit tree saplings can be expensive, but there is a cheaper alternative.

During the Harvest Festival, pleasing the giant squirrel Blob rewards an Acorn Blob egg.

The Acorn Blob possesses a unique ability that allows it to convert trees into saplings once per day.

This ability can be used on:

  • Trees around town
  • Jade’s apple trees
  • Trees found in Blob Worlds

Because trees regrow seasonally, this provides a renewable source of saplings.

Capture a Blob With Healing Skills

If you’re tired of constantly using food during battles, try hunting Lotus Blobs.

These Blobs appear near the waterfall area.

To encounter them:

  1. Use your fishing rod on the lotus flowers.
  2. Trigger the battle.
  3. Defeat the Lotus Blob and hope for an egg drop.

Lotus Blobs can learn healing abilities that significantly improve survivability.

Complete Blob Cravings Without Spending Money

Early Blob cravings often request simple food items.

Instead of purchasing everything from shops, fight NPC trainers throughout town.

Many NPCs reward items after battle, including:

  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Soda
  • Other ingredients

This can save a surprising amount of money while keeping your Blobs happy.

Ova Magica is much more forgiving than it first appears. Most resources can be replaced, farm layouts can be reorganized, and there are numerous ways to obtain free Blobs, money, and materials early in the game.

By focusing on flowers for income, expanding your Blob collection, carrying the right exploration tools, and taking advantage of free resources around town, you’ll have a much smoother start to your farming adventure.
