Tenebris Somnia draws players into a haunting world where every choice and action can lock or unlock hidden achievements, many of which can be missed if you rush ahead. Whether wielding a wrench throughout the run or seeking out all the secret items, nailing these requirements can make the difference between a casual playthrough and a fully completed experience.
Several achievements in Tenebris Somnia are missable, especially those tied to specific weapons and story events. One such critical trophy is Stella Plena, which demands you open every star locker before confronting the pivotal boss, Sanguis. Beyond this, there are 14 such achievements tied to combat, exploration, and story endings that you should plan for carefully to avoid missing.
Story-Related Tenebris Somnia Achievements
Devora
Requirement: Find all three film canisters scattered throughout the story.
The film reels present themselves naturally as you progress, so keep an eye out and grab all three canisters when you see them. Missing any will cost you the achievement.
Have You Chosen… Wisely?
Requirement: Remove three save points to fill the silver bottle.
This is a straightforward achievement achieved as part of the main objective. Removing three save points is unavoidable, so this one should unlock naturally during your journey.
De Relictis
Requirement: Read every page of the old book before finishing the game.
This one is easy to overlook since it isn’t mandatory for story progression. Take your time to leaf through every page of the old book before moving toward the final story segments.
Be thorough in checking the book, as skipping even a single page will cost this achievement.
Missable Exploration Achievements
These achievements rely on specific interactions in particular locations. Several will become impossible to obtain later in the story, so make sure to trigger them as soon as you reach the indicated areas.
Maybe He’s In The Bathroom
Requirement: Knock on Iván’s door 10 times before entering.
Right at the start, you must interact with Iván’s apartment door ten times before using the keys to enter. Once inside, this opportunity disappears, so prioritize this immediately after starting.
You won’t be able to unlock this after entering, so don’t miss the chance early on.
Thinking About Him, huh?
Requirement: Interact with Iván’s picture five times in the second-floor apartment.
Head to the room near the TV; inside, there’s a photo of Iván. Spend the effort to look at it five times spread out across your interaction to claim this achievement.
This subtle detail encourages close exploration, so don’t rush past this room.
One More For The Road
Requirement: Drink Lavendoleum while your health is full.
Timing here is key—ensure your health bar is completely filled before consuming Lavendoleum, or the achievement will not register. Monitor your health carefully.
Classics Never Die
Requirement: Pick up the iron pipe, which is located in a bathroom.
The iron pipe won’t be right out in the open. First find a screwdriver resting on a box near the stairs in the film reel area.
- Locate the area with the film reels.
- Grab the screwdriver on the box near the stairs.
- Take it over to the bathroom.
- Use the screwdriver to pry the iron pipe free.
Stella Plena
Requirement: Open every star locker on Floors 0, 1, 2, and 3.
These star lockers are well hidden; consult detailed location guides to track down all six Copper Stars and their matching lockers.
Check my Tenebris Somnia Star Locker Locations guide to find all six Copper Stars and their matching lockers.
Important: This is the point of no return—open all star lockers before the Sanguis boss fight or you will miss this achievement.
Bad Puppy
Requirement: During the Sanguis fight, force the boss to destroy every standing mannequin.
Use the mannequins as a shield. Position yourself so the boss’s attacks land on these dummies instead of you. Keep baiting attacks until all mannequins have been destroyed.
Don’t finish off Sanguis prematurely; wait until all mannequins are broken to earn this trophy.
You Can Stop Now
Requirement: Continue walking through the endless green corridor to trigger the achievement.
This puzzle involves an infinite corridor near the game’s end. Persist moving left continuously without turning back until the achievement unlocks.
Keep moving left through the corridor until the achievement unlocks. Don’t turn back or stop searching for another route.
Heart of Lead
Requirement: Kill every Relicta ghost you find.
Follow the path toward Ending #2. After getting the Aurifer, scour every floor for Relicta ghosts and eliminate all of them.
Don’t rush through—be methodical to ensure you don’t overlook any ghost on any floor.
Important: The game may not always register kills correctly. To maximize success:
- Avoid killing several ghosts with one attack.
- Wait for gold particles to vanish after each kill before continuing.
- Confirm there are no remaining ghosts on a floor before advancing.
Combat Achievements
Many achievements require precise combat conditions. Saving often before bosses or tough fights will save frustration when retrying these challenges.
Wrench Queen
Requirement: Finish the entire game using only the wrench as your weapon.
Any attack or aim other than the wrench disqualifies this. You must rely solely on the wrench, making for a demanding but rewarding challenge.
This pairs nicely with Iron and Wax, which also requires using the wrench exclusively to defeat Obscuratus.
He Just Wanted a Hug
Requirement: Escape from a Vorax explosion by entering another room before detonation.
Damage a Vorax until it glows red and lunges toward you, then dash into a nearby room and wait for the explosion sound before coming back.
Quickly move into another room. Wait until you hear the explosion before returning.
This requires a firearm, so separate your saved game if doing a wrench-only run.
The Two Stooges
Requirement: Kill two or more enemies with a single attack (excluding Carnitos).
Hallways near elevators are ideal spots. If only one enemy is present, keep it alive until more appear then hit them together using the shotgun or wrench.
If only one enemy is present, make sure you leave it alive until more enemies appear. Once two or more enemies gather together, use a shotgun or the wrench to hit them with the same attack.
Damage may occur while waiting, so save beforehand.
Iron and wax
Requirement: Defeat the first boss, Obscuratus, using only the wrench.
You’ll encounter Obscuratus in the candle-filled room entered through a window. Stick to the wrench the entire fight to earn this achievement.
Defeat the boss using the wrench for the entire fight. Don’t switch to firearms or other weapons.
This unlocks effortlessly alongside Wrench Queen since both restrict weapon usage.
Exhaust Pipe
Requirement: Defeat the second boss, Fumus, using only the iron pipe.
Fumus is fought after obtaining the animal skull key. To prep, collect the iron pipe from the bar’s bathroom using the screwdriver.
First, obtain the iron pipe from the bar’s bathroom. You’ll need the screwdriver to collect it.
Stick to the iron pipe exclusively during the fight; do not swap weapons.
Warning: Using the pipe here invalidates your wrench-only run. Keep a separate save for Wrench Queen if aiming to get both.
Valiant Little Taylor
Requirement: Kill three Carnitos simultaneously with one attack.
During the third boss fight, let three Carnitos get close enough to be taken out by a single strike.
During this encounter, enemies spawn that can be killed with a single hit from any weapon. Let three of them gather close together, then land one attack that kills all three.
Butcheress
Requirement: Defeat Carnitos without taking any damage.
Stay in the bottom-right corner of the arena to minimize exposure. This lets you bait enemies and attack safely, whether using firearms or the wrench.
The best position is the bottom-right corner of the arena. From there, you can shoot the enemies while reducing the risk of being hit.
If you’re completing Wrench Queen, you can also use this position with the wrench. Move out just far enough to draw enemies toward you, then time your attacks carefully.
Restart if damaged before the fight’s end.
Acrophobia
Requirement: Die as a result of Lacuna dropping you during its boss fight.
On the route to Ending #1, during Lacuna’s first phase, stand still when it screams and prepares its drop attack so you get thrown to your death deliberately.
During the first phase, watch for the attack where Lacuna screams, jumps, and lands. When this attack begins, stay still so Lacuna can grab you and drop you to your death.
