How it drops

A single drop check takes place at the end of each wave upon the demise of the final enemy, rolled at that target's level. A common outcome gives every slot with a viable base an equal chance of being picked—aside from Back, which rolls at 7% relative likelihood—before evenly choosing a base in the slot. Worn Pauldron enters eligibility at enemy level 1. Normal mode generates item levels between 10 × (level − 1) and 10 × level + 9, whereas Nightmare and Inferno feature level 70 enemies throughout, setting item level to 700 plus the map's level (× 2 on Inferno).

Possible affixes

Common items roll 1 primary affix selected uniquely from class-compatible stats, with defensive armor slots invariably gaining base Armor as well. Value ranges below match the formula at each item level; test custom values using the item roll calculator.
