Chapter 8, All The Time In The World, is where 007: First Light starts giving players much more freedom in how they approach objectives. Many areas can be completed through stealth, gadgets, disguises, or direct action, and several optional challenges encourage you to experiment with different methods.
One of the easiest challenges to miss is Laundry Day, which requires Bond to disguise himself as a laundry worker while navigating the laundry section of the mission. The disguise is hidden in the area itself, and unless you know exactly where to look, it’s very easy to accidentally alert guards and miss the challenge entirely.
The good news is that once you know the route, this challenge becomes one of the simplest stealth objectives in the chapter. Better yet, completing it can also help you earn additional challenge rewards during the same run.
Starting From The Laundry Checkpoint
For the quickest attempt, load the mission from the Laundry checkpoint.
This places you directly before the section where the disguise can be obtained, saving you from replaying earlier parts of the chapter every time you make a mistake.
Before moving forward, take a moment to observe the guard patrols. While the area can be completed quickly, rushing often leads to detection before you even reach the disguise.
Creating A Distraction
As soon as the checkpoint begins, move toward the left side of the room.
You should spot a fire extinguisher that can be used as a distraction tool. Instead of engaging guards directly, equip your dart weapon and fire at the extinguisher.
The resulting distraction will draw the attention of nearby guards for a few moments, creating a safe opening.
While the guards investigate the noise, immediately move toward the nearby door and kick it open. Enter the room as quickly as possible before anyone notices you.
Once inside, stay hidden until the guards return to their normal routines.
Finding The Laundry Worker Hat
Inside this room you’ll discover two guards standing near a table.
The table contains the item you’re looking for: the laundry worker hat.
Unfortunately, simply walking over and taking it isn’t possible because the guards are watching the area closely. This is where Bond’s gadgets become important.
Look above the guards and locate the air conditioning unit.
Using Bond’s watch, activate the air conditioner to release a cloud of smoke into the room. The smoke briefly obscures visibility and creates the perfect opportunity to grab the disguise.
As soon as the smoke appears, move directly to the table and equip the laundry worker hat before the effect disappears.
Using The Disguise
Once Bond puts on the hat, he is effectively disguised as a laundry worker.
The disguise completely changes how enemies react inside this section. Guards who would normally become suspicious or immediately detect Bond will instead ignore him while he remains disguised.
This allows you to move through the laundry area openly without needing additional stealth takedowns, distractions, or gadget usage.
One of the biggest advantages of this approach is that it removes most of the risk from the section. Instead of sneaking between patrols, you can simply walk toward your objective.
Leaving The Laundry Area
After obtaining the disguise, head directly toward the exit.
As long as you avoid doing anything suspicious, the guards won’t interfere with your movement through the area.
Upon successfully leaving, you’ll complete the Laundry Day challenge.
Depending on how cleanly you handled the section, you can also unlock the Uninterrupted Service and Squeaky Clean challenges during the same run. Because all three objectives naturally complement each other, this is one of the most efficient challenge combinations in the entire chapter.
Tips For A Consistent Clear
The most important part of this challenge is reaching the disguise room without being spotted. If guards become alerted before you acquire the hat, recovering the situation can be difficult.
Always use the fire extinguisher distraction first, enter the room immediately, and wait for a safe moment to activate the air conditioner. Trying to rush directly for the hat without creating cover usually ends in detection.
Once the disguise is equipped, the rest of the section becomes extremely straightforward. Simply stay calm, avoid unnecessary interactions, and walk out of the laundry room to secure an easy challenge completion.
