Starting your journey in Star Sailors can feel a little overwhelming. There are Battle Partners, Assist Partners, Monsters, multiple team roles, and dozens of characters to choose from. If you’re planning to reroll, it’s even more important to know which units are actually worth chasing before you spend your launch rewards.
The good news is that Star Sailors is fairly reroll-friendly compared to many other gacha games. With free launch summons, easy account deletion, and a relatively short reroll process, getting a strong start isn’t as painful as you might expect.
This guide covers the current reroll priorities, early-game team building, progression tips, and everything new players should know before diving into the global version.
Should You Reroll?
Yes—especially if you’re a free-to-play player.
The game provides enough launch rewards to make rerolling worthwhile, and the process only takes around 15 minutes per attempt.
If you’re planning to play long-term, spending a little extra time at the beginning can save you a lot of resources later.
Best Characters to Reroll For
Based on early community recommendations, these are the strongest reroll targets for the global launch.
S-Tier Reroll Targets
Battle Partners
- Nina
- Kaira
Assist Partners
- K
- Iris
Main Character
- Highlander
If your first summons include one or more of these units, you’re already off to an excellent start.
Best DPS to Prioritize
Many experienced players recommend prioritizing a powerful DPS character over support units during rerolls.
If you’re only planning to keep one account, Nina is considered one of the safest and strongest choices because she can carry much of the early game.
Having a top damage dealer makes story progression much smoother than focusing entirely on utility characters.
A-Tier Characters
These characters are still excellent choices if you don’t pull an S-tier unit.
- Sage
- Jen
- Karat
- Erling
- Een
- Sion
- Jerry
They may not be the absolute best units available, but they’re more than capable of helping you clear the main story.
B-Tier Characters
Solid options that perform well early on.
- Paladin
- Iron
- Soul
- Remy
- Dora
- Caroline
Several of these are available for free, making them valuable additions even if they aren’t top-tier.
C-Tier Characters
Generally lower-priority characters include:
- R
- Simo
- Ed
- Nadia
- Mui
They’re still usable, but most players will eventually replace them as stronger units become available.
Free Characters You’ll Receive
One nice feature of Star Sailors is that it gives players several useful free characters during the early chapters.
Known free units include:
- Caroline
- Remy
- Soul
- Dora
Since these characters are guaranteed, you don’t need to waste reroll attempts trying to obtain them.
Instead, focus your summons on stronger premium characters.
Best Early Game Team Composition
Rather than filling your team with only damage dealers, aim for a balanced lineup.
A strong beginner team usually includes:
- 1 Main DPS
- 1 Chain Amplifier
- 1–2 Supports or Debuffers
- 1–2 Healers or Defenders
Having the right balance greatly improves survivability during tougher story stages.
Recommended Free-to-Play Teams
If you’re not planning to spend money, these early-game teams are great starting points.
Chapters 1–3
Use the free characters provided early in the story while learning the game’s mechanics.
This team is more than strong enough to complete the opening chapters.
Chapters 4–5
Recommended units include:
- Ethan
- Remy
- Sion
By this point you’ll begin replacing some of your starter characters with stronger summons.
Chapters 6–7
Recommended options include:
- Hunter K
- Jerry
- Remy
- Eon
- Enchanter
Depending on your summons, you may have multiple viable team combinations during these chapters.
New Character: Heidi
The Global launch also introduces:
Heidi
Since she’s a brand-new featured character, many players expect her to perform near the top of the current meta.
If you’re planning to summon on the featured banner, Heidi is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Launch Rewards
At launch, players can claim several free rewards, including:
- 20 Limited Banner summons
- 30 Standard Banner summons
Depending on future events or compensation rewards, the total number of free pulls may increase even further.
Always claim everything from your mailbox before deciding whether to keep or reroll your account.
How to Reroll
The reroll process is fairly simple.
Step 1
Complete the tutorial until around Chapter 2.
Step 2
Claim all launch rewards from your mailbox.
Step 3
Use your available summons.
Step 4
Check whether you pulled your desired characters.
Step 5
If you’re unhappy with the results:
- Open the main menu.
- Go to Account.
- Select Delete Account.
Once the deletion process finishes, you’ll return to the title screen and can immediately begin another reroll.
This makes Star Sailors much less frustrating than many other mobile gacha games.
PC Reroll Tips
If you’re playing on PC through an Android emulator, rerolling can be much faster.
Many players use multiple emulator instances (often called multi-instance or multi-instance manager) to reroll several accounts at the same time. If your computer is powerful enough, this lets you compare multiple starting accounts in one session instead of repeating the process one by one.
